Argh. Good lord, some people just piss me off...

I'm not as familiar with the FFX fandom, but I've definitely been exposed to Aerith hate from fellow FF7 fans, and for the life of me, I DON'T GET IT AT ALL. What's so horrible about her?! I will admit sometimes it annoys me when characters get guys to cross-dress, but hey, Aerith had a good reason for that, and it was terribly amusing to see Cloud in drag. XD Aerith is clever, crafty, sweet, kind, and the right kind of self-sacrificing, as you pointed out. She deserves more love!

I loved Aerith. To be honest, I'd heard so much shit about her from FF7 fans that I'd gone into the game expecting to hate her and was quite surprised when she wasn't anything like the way a lot of fans portrayed her.

(My sister was in the room while I was playing through the Wall Market segment and she thought that part was a riot and stated that all games should have mandatory cross-dressing sidequests. XD)

Aerith isn't some perfect angel, and that's what makes her so great. She's got spunk and a mischievous side. Are these fanbrats forgetting how she pissed Barret off at the Gold Saucer by being rather insensitive?

They might have, because I don't quite remember. XD Aerith's mischievous streak is definitely amusing. Even though it was necessary to make Cloud cross-dress to get into the house, I don't doubt that she was having a lot of fun with it! XD And yay for spunk! I think she has just the right amount of it, only using it when it's important and not using it when it's, well, not.

She made some comment about Dyne, as I recall, that ended up with him getting mad and storming out. I don't remember exactly what she said, though.

I loved the cross-dressing bit because it was so obvious that she was getting a kick out of it. XD And I agree on her having just the right amount of spunk-- she's not in-your-face with it like some other characters are.

Yeah, it seems that some female characters are the in-your-face kind of spunky, and that can get frustrating after a while. XD; It's refreshing to see a character who doesn't feel that she has to be that way all the time to prove herself as being "tough."

I've actually seen people bash Aerith for her insensitive comment to Barret as well as her actions towards Tseng in the Temple of the Ancients. The Tseng thing is ridiculous, but I won't get into that here.

Yeah, Aerith's mischievous prankster side rocks! She really did seem to enjoy every minute of Cloud's "makeover" And of course she's got spunk. If she didn't have that, she wouldn't have Cloud as a bodyguard in the first place.

But...but...stupid girl, Aerith is against Cloud and Tifa TWUUUU LUUUV ONEONEONEONE.(you could replace Tifa by Sephiroth or Zack).
And if you wonder why Tifa is so hated in this fandom...Well takes the precedent sentence and switch Aerith and Tifa.
Sadly, it's most of the times, the simple truth.^^;
But the OP had still a point, I've seen many fanbrats hating Aerith because she's "weak".>_>;
Oh and, of course, there is the ones accusing her to beeing a "canon sue".^^;

Unfortunately, yes! The same story repeats over and over again as the fanbrats continue to spawn and multiply the idiocy across the world! It's always the same reasons when they hate on characters.

XD I just don't like it sometimes when the guys are made to look so foolish. And yet on the other hand I'm terribly amused by it at the same time. **contradicts herself.**
