Why bash Atoli?
So, I haven't posted a rant here in a while, but here we go~
Today's victim: Atoli from .Hack//G.U. folks!
Ok, I can totally see why people are bashing her, her English voice is annoying ( actually, I think it's cute, but whatever.XD ), she's constantly pestering Haseo to do things he doesn't want to do. But, all characters have flaws, don't they? Kuhn's a flirt ( who doesn't have a stinkin' problem with dating TWO girls at the same time, how is that NOT a flaw? ). Haseo's a jerk and ect. So, you're saying it's OK for all your bishies to have flaws, but the female main character of the game isn't allowed to have a few?
Let's move on to what people have accused her of.
She's always hitting on Haseo!
Whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait a second here. How is she "hitting" on him? She bothers and follows him around everywhere, yes. But, she ISN'T hitting on him, that's for sure. Atoli just wants to be Haseo's friend, and that's why she tries so hard to help him with everything. I mean c'mon, the guy has said the WORSE things to her, crushed her feelings, and guess what? She says SORRY to HIM, and he doesn't say sorry to HER. Even though, he KNEW what he did wrong. And, when he and Silabus were waiting for her when she was late for the tornament match? Haseo was worried that she wouldn't show up because of what he had said to her before. And, when she did show up, and explained why she was late? It was obvious that Haseo was relieved.
I mean seriously, he called her a backstabber right to her face the day before hand, and you say that she bothers Haseo? Haseo BULLIES her unitentionally. And, if you didn't watch the ending of the game? Haseo has defintly begun to accept Atoli as a friend. And, seeing as games usually have canon romance in them, I wouldn't be surprised if Atoli ended up with Haseo.

I can understand where this comes from, but I'd like to make a quick voice acting refrence here.
Voice acting, is actually CONTROLLED by the original Japanese company as well as the English company? How do I know this? Well, here's something that'll prove it for ya!
Note: Yuri Lowenthal is also the voice actor of Haseo ( and characters like Asch and Luke in ToA ).
"Yuri had at one point been contracted by Bandai U.S. to provide the English voice for Renton Thurston in Eureka Seven. After recording 13 episodes, he was replaced by Johnny Yong Bosch because Bandai Japan felt that his voice was too low for the character and all of the lines were subsequently rerecorded. Yuri is never actually heard in Eureka Seven as a result, despite it previously being listed on his resume."
The Japanese company choose to replace
So, if you're all fangirlly over her Japanese voice, then her Japanese voice must be as annoying to others in Japan as well. So, how is it that the Japanese voice is "better" then the English voice? I just don't see how that is.
So, here's a conclusion for you: Atoli is a really sweet girl, who likes to help in anyway she can even to Haseo who says the meanest things to her.
So how is being nice annoying? I'll never know, I guess.
