Kagome complains about ten bajillion times less than InuYasha himself does. I'm hardpressed to think of things she really whines about minus the occasional agonizing over school (and who doesn't do that?). I may be less inclined to be irritated at the 'whiny' argument if they targetted characters who were actually whiny.

And Harry's behavior didn't bug me in the least in OOTP. I'm one of the few people who found 'capslock Harry' rather refreshing.

I've never understood why people hate Kagome to begin with. Even if she isn't strong physically she's strong mentally. Besides that most people who complain about characters whinning probably would shit their pants in the situations Kagome goes through. =/ Seriously some fans are all big talk, but probably couldn't handle the presure if it was them in Kagome's shoes. I for one know I couldn't Kagome's a hell of a lot stronger than I am.

Most people couldn't. It would take a heck of a lot of strength. And to remain as level headed as she does? She can think under immense pressure, something not even some trained warriors can do.

Speaking of trained warriors, that's why I can't buy the 'not strong physically' argument either. Every single other member of the main group is a fighter who was raised in sengoku jidai. Yet despite that, she keeps up with them. She's obviously a substantial lot stronger and has more endurance than most modern girls her age would. Because most people couldn't do that. She's not superwoman, but she has got to be pretty strong. Not to mention it takes a lot of strength to use a bow in the manner she does- a lot. It's not an easy weapon to handle. I get so tired of weak!Kagome fanfics. They treat her as if she's some kind of wilting flower.

I'd guess maybe Kagome's atheletic, except she doesn't seem to have had time for clubs even before the start of the series.

Yah, She may just be one of those athletic people who just don't choose to partake in sports. Although her brother at least does soccer.

It also could be the fact that she has to walk up and down those huge shrine steps all the time.

I've also trained in a martial arts style so I know what it takes to learn a fighting skill, and to all those people who argue that Kagome should be a lot stronger by now blow it out your asses. It takes time...a lot of time, as well as a lot of effort to learn how to fight.

*deep breath*

Kagome is very human and that's what I like about her character. The creator makes her easy to relate to for me.

Oh definitely.

They seem to forget that it's been quite a bit less than a year since Kagome even began going to sengoku jidai. That's very little time in comparison to how long it takes to become a skilled fighter. And during that time she's had almost no chances to hone her skills in any kind of training 'sessions.' She's tossed on the battlefield and the only training she has is what she teaches herself through experience.

I hate Kagome bashers, because well I feel that at times I can relate to Kagome. She's human, she's strong mentally, and even if she isn't strong physically she's trying her best to keep up.

I also hate the whole Kagome vs. Kikyou war. It's just, who cares if someone thinks someone else is better. It doesn't mean that you have to hate the other side.

Exactly. People seem to think that emotional strength isn't worth as much as physical strength, but I'd be inclined to disagree. I personally find myself quite pathetic next to Kagome (or any number of `weak' characters).

I too rather liked how Harry was written in OoTP; I thought, given the circumstances, his actions were very realistic.

Harry was definitely my favorite character in OotP; I wasn't exactly apethetic bout him before, but I love him so much more now that he has some depth.

But really, everyone else I talk to seems to have a problem with his 'attitude'. I, er, calmly inform them of my opinion. >>
