hotel rwanda

several times a year i will come across films that make me leave the theatre with a heavy heart. 21 grams, mystic river, tears of the sun, we were soldiers... just to name a few.
and now to add on to the list, hotel rwanda. i know the situation, i read the newspapers and journal reports. i wrote a paper on it before. i know things are not as simple as hutu bad guys tutsi good guys and the UN moronic guys. which is why i hated political science at times, they have a tendency to dehumanize any issues. you can be, oh so fucking objective when writing an academic paper... you have to, the discipline demands it.

which adds on more to the heavy feeling i felt during and after the show. when all had been said and done, when all had been rationalized to the last detail, human blood are shed at a horrendous rate, by fellow human beings without a shred of morality. and the unfortunate part is, this is never going to end.

we have to pray this will never happen in our shores.
never.
