ok, I have now officially begun my summer.
Graduation was thursday night. it was not bad, but not great. it's almost fitting that my last memory from high school is dumbass kids flicking their caps at teachers and Mr. Eaton yelling at them. I am sad to leave my teachers, and the safety of that place where, but I am extremely happy to leave all of the ignorant children, and apathetic dickheads. I'm not saying that expect every person I meet at college to be perfect, but it has to be a hell of a lot better, simply on the basis that all of those kids had to put in a crazy amount of work to get into Duke, and so actually care about being where they are. (well, most of them, at least...all is never fair)
So, that makes me happy. on top of it, yesterday was like woah awesome. I picked up marcie at like 10, and went for bagels, and I met nicole's cousin nicole in the bagel place and her boyfriend JC...who is not nearly as awful as nicole always makes him out to be. I've known him for a long time, actually. He's not the brightest light, but he is a nice kid...usually. So that was cool, and then I went and got barked at by her dog for a while.
Then into the city to meet julia. walked up to central park and walked around/laid in the grass for a while, watched some people played frisbee and stuff. Then we went up to kim's apartment and talked around there for a bit, out to dinner and then down to the mcdougal street to meet mari at a hooka place. anywho so we got shafted out of about 10 bucks by the asshole owners (why are they always?), but I now know how to get to Cafe Wha? which makes me happy, cause I have that Duke thing there next week. So after that we met up with Mari's friend James and his friend Serge. We walked over to a billiards place and played for a bit. I love pool...don't get to play with people nearly enough, but I really have gotten pretty good...like I know I can make almost any shot on the table...just not every time. They were all getting angry with me for making rediculous shots, then I sunk two on one shot...it was, beleive me, complete luck...I couldn't have aimed that in a million years, but it was still cool. So that was alot of fun, James and Serge seem cool, and of course, I adore mari and julia and kim is way excellent, though I don't know her so great. then I had to go home, which sucks, but I really had to...as it was I didn't get home until almost one. they were going out to like drink or do something else..I really would have liked to go, but I hadn't made plans to stay in the city. oh well.
anyhow, it was a fucking excellent day. I was soo dead when I got home. So, nicole's tonight...sarah's tomarrow. and that's about it. work starts on tuesday.
