1) Is there room for a sort of Ministry of Morale in the city government? It hooks into the civil servants aspect, and given the way the setting is shapping up, "Soviet-style political officer" makes more sense as a background for the character I'm thinking of than "failed marketing exec".
2) Razorclaw shifter bard! Acceptable class/race combo? It looks like 4e bards are pretty combat effective, and while I'd ordinarily emphasize the skills on a character like that, especially with that default +1 in untrained that bards get, I'm thinking I should lean more heavily to the combat side where possible.
2a) Color photographs only, or are color drawings okay? For non-humans, I expect the portrait would be "would play this character in a movie, but with lots of added makeup," given the dearth of non-human-looking photographs of people. Furry ears in photographs are not common that I can find.
3) Just noticed on reading the wiki that we're supposed to be using voice chat, not typed chat. Should I get a headset for this? The only actual voice-involving chat I've done with this computer before was through iChat, and typically sound quality was pretty atrocious there.
4) When does the indenture kick in? I mean, if an infant dies two days after being born, is that still an extra 2k days ladeled out to its siblings? Or do kids have to at least make it to a kind of age of majority before the debt kicks in? (Because I can see a lot of attempts to hide the deaths of infants/small children, or even their existence until a certain age, if every case of whooping cough in the neighborhood means your entire family is indentured for life.)
