Friendship and Intelligence

Is there any relationship between Intelligence and Friendship??? One of my best friend says that people like to make friendship with only those who are intelligent and not with the one who is dumb. I disagree with her statement bcoz friendship requires trust and not the intelligence.

What do u all feel about this???
