CHARACTER INFORMATION-
Canon Character and Series: Kenpachi Zaraki, Bleach
Age: 40-ish, he thinks
Gender: male
Position & Ship: gunner, Fiertia
Appearance: Kenpachi Zaraki gives off a powerful air of ‘mess with me and it’ll be the last thing you do.’ He’s massive and very well-muscled, and has a long scar down the left side of his face. He stands 6’6’ tall, and he appears even taller when you take into account his hair, which he’s recently taken to styling into long spikes. His clothing is pretty ordinary-he usually wears drab tunics and pants-but he does have two very distinctive accessories. He hangs a bell on the end of each spike of his hair and he wears an eye patch over his right eye.
Personality: Kenpachi loves nothing more than a good fight-the stronger the opponent, the more fun he has. He’s been known to let an opponent live just so he or she can get stronger and come back to fight him later. But despite his apparent bloodthirstiness, it’s fighting, not killing that Kenpachi really enjoys. As a result, he doesn’t usually attack weaker people unless they attack him, since the fight isn’t worth his time.
When Kenpachi fights, he fights all-out, often sacrificing defense so he can get a better attack. He sometimes takes even serious injuries with nothing but a grin and a gleeful comment that things are getting ‘interesting.’ He also handicaps himself for the sake of getting a better fight. For example, the eye-patch isn’t necessary-he just uses it to weaken his depth perception and give the enemy an advantage. Because of the way he fights, people often underestimate assume that he’s a mindless berserker. In fact, he has a sharp, crafty mind, which has saved him many times in battle.
He also has a soft spot for the daughter he adopted. He seems impatient with her at times, referring to her as ‘brat’ or ‘kid,’ but he’s actually very close to her and cares about her a lot. While he makes sure she can take care of herself, he prefers to keep her safe and out of real fights when he can. Truthfully, he had been terribly, terribly lonely before he met her. He didn’t even have a name. She gave him companionship and someone to care about and who cared about him, so Yachiru means the world to him.
Apart from Yachiru, the thing most important to Kenpachi is his name. He didn’t have one himself until he met Yachiru, and he still remembers how it felt to be nameless. In his mind, not having a name means that you have no one who needs to call you. It means that you have no one and no one cares about you. He hated that feeling, so he considers names-both his own and others’-very important.
Abilities/Weapons: Kenpachi is physically very strong-he could lift someone his own size over his head and throw him or her across the deck without much difficulty. Part of this is due to building up his strength from near-constant fighting, but part is due to his exposure to mana crystals during his time with his mentor. For the same reasons, he’s very fast, much faster than you might expect from his bulk.
Kenpachi is not above using his fists to fight, but most of the time he relies on his sword. Supposedly, it’s a zanpakuto, but Kenpachi’s never been able to harness any of its supposed magical powers. It was secondhand, so he wonders if maybe the mana crystals are worn out or broken. Nonetheless, despite its jagged and apparently worn-down appearance, he can wield it very capably, either one-handed or two-handed.
How well can your character hack?: Kenpachi has never had enough money to own a computer, and he’s never met someone who was rich enough to own a computer and who let him use it. He can’t hack at all.
