[Strange, to see the Doctor making a voice post. Or, well, it would be strange if you knew him well. As it is, he hasn't been here quite long enough to make it strange or... not strange.

Two biologically centered events in the first month of my being here? I feel like I've won some sort of prize....
Although I have to wonder what's causing this sort of change so easily? Where I come from, magic is just a form of technology, a word used to label something a culture cannot understand. For humans, for example, lightning was once considered magic. The work of the gods. And I have to wonder if what everyone here is considering a 'magical event' isn't really just the work of some technology your worlds have yet to encounter.
I can think of three such devices that could cause a phenomenon such as this, although none were ever perfected to the point where they could be operated so flawlessly. Or without so much as a hint of a power throwback.
Which also makes me wonder: this city is formed from a multitude of different buildings pulled through space and time from various different universes, just as we, the populace, are. However, there also seem to be indigenous people here, those that only come out and interact with us in choice times, like the carnival we had at the beginning of the month.
This place, this city; Adstringendum. It's far too large for who is here now, even if you account for the 'locals'. And the destruction visited to this place... I know the scientists - those in the inner city, unless I'm mistaken? - are the ones responsible for bringing us here, for keeping us here, but why?
That's always the question, isn't it? Why?
Why and How.
If anyone could help, if anyone's gathered a significant amount of information on the Animus, the inner city, the Scientists, I think you'll find it most effective if you share it with me. After all, I am a genius. And I always manage to find a solution in even the most impossible situations.

Any information on what happens when people leave Adstringendum would also be appreciated. The more specific, the better.
