Dead links

Jan 17, 2011 22:09

I’ve been noticing a few hits to a story hosted on my old server by an ex-girlfriend. I’ve notified a number of places which have links to said file, but this is the Internet so some links will remain out there indefinitely.

Since 404 errors are boring (yes, I know they can be customised, but I don’t care enough to bother), I’ve decided to take advantage of this and just redirect it all to this blog. It seemed like a good idea, but I do wonder whether or not I’ll receive any questions from people looking for the story. I doubt it, but you never know.

I’ve also been playing a little bit with some scripting in Python. It’s not really that comprehensive, just screwing around with some automatically generated emails on a particular thing, but it is useful.

As I suspected, the Twitter digest posts are currently the most common on this site, but hopefully I should gradually make up for that with real posts. This one is a bit lame, but my hayfever kicked in earlier and I am now writing under the influence of a quite potent antihistamine.
