Quitting The Fresh Market has been so bittersweet. I interviewed for the wine buyer position at Whole Foods and didn't get the position because I totally drew a blank on questions I'd been studying for weeks during the interview! It was wine regions and varieties. Was offered a position on the Specialty Team, which is still wine and cheese but a blow to the ego having to work with the three people who interviewed me. It's still a damn good job with a damn good company and I'll be the cheese buyer in about 3 months. It's actually very nice to have a step back from a great deal of responsibility and constant corporate scrutiny. 5 days left at The Fresh Market and I'm going to work my best for each one. I loved that job but the company is god damn terrible.
This Christmas was the best one I've had since we moved out together. Got very ahead financially this year and it definitely showed this month. Woke up and opened presents with the roomies with coffee and cinnamon rolls. Lazed about a bit and watched A Christmas Carol and National Lampoon's Christmas something. This led to a mid day nap. Woke up and had the pot roast I marinated in balsamic vinegar, white wine and spices roasted over potatoes and carrots. Twas incredible. Went to Neptunes to pregame drink for King's Barcade. Met up with an awesome girl Jonathan works with and saw an amazing flame hula hoop, sword swinging, jingle crotch dingle contest, teddy bear flinging, belly dancing, festive strip show christmas mayhem extravaganza. Most drunk I've ever been in public. One to remember.
Trying to buy a lot more on Etsy to eliminate accessory and clothes shopping based on convenience. Been getting a lot of nice basics on the Urban Outfitters website to cover things not in my size or not offered at all on Etsy and feeling much more comfortable. I could make love to the shoes I've been buying.
