I am enjoying Kim's Convenience on CBC.

I watched two episodes today, Dong Chim and Frank and Nyoung.

It's nice to see a family comedy about an immigrant family who are not perfect but muddle they way through life's ups and downs. It's based on an award winning play by Ins Choi.

The father is adorable with his befuddlement over Gay Pride, what is art, and the fact he does not speak to or about his Prodigal son.

The mother is a typical Christian Korean mother who wants her children to marry other Christian Koreans. She even has an "job" interview for dates for her daughter in one episode.

The son is the black sheep who is making good now at a car rental agency. His boss has the hots for him.

The daughter is a photography student who takes some very good pictures. She is trying to live her own life but still lives at home.

The stories are more about the family conflict that arises between parents who want to do things the old country way versus the Canadian children who want to do their own thing more.

So I would encourage people to watch when they can.
