Communications is key to modern day survival.
While setting up the computer Monday night for Tuesday hook up of phone and internet, I noticed I could not get the modem plug into the phone jack.
So Tuesday morning I called my phone/internet provider and they agreed to send a tech on Wednesday to fix the problem.
On Wednesday morning the tech arrived, cleaned out the paint that was plugging up the phone jack in the smaller bedroom. Went to the phone box in laundry room to check the phone line signal. He was having some difficulty getting a signal in the bedrooms but no problems in the living room or kitchen. Seems the wire connecting the bedrooms is broken or accidental cut during renovations. Damn!
So the modem in in the living room. Luckily the computer tower can receive WiFi signals becasue it would be hard to play WoW without it, especially after paying for the latest expansion. And the phone is plugged in the kitchen sans answering machine till I get an extension cord long enough to loop to the plug by the closet.
But we have better WiFi reception here as we aren't fighting as many apartments for a signal as the old place.
