So we started a new game last Thursday,
Alpha Omega. We were given pre-made characters because the character generation system is pretty elaborate. I am the mage type individual of the party. The world is post natural catastrophe and throw in an on-going divine war and you have the messed up situations we have to deal with. People can be normal, mutated, half-breeds of all sorts, genetically engineered or cybernetic. So it makes for an interesting range of abilities or disabilities.
So far we are getting the hand of game mechanics, especially the combat one. You get a dice pool of six dice and combat is in six segments. You can act on the 3rd segment, and if you are real lucky, the 6th. So you can split up your dice pool a bit depending on how much pow you think you will need to get things done.
Our adventure is called Milk Run. Our group has been hired to retrieve some valuable papers from a city that collapsed fro no apparent reason. We have to get and out before another city's armed forces go in and "save" it. Killing critters is hard but not impossible but dealing with the locks has been impossible. Luckily for us, our NPC cohorts have acid to by pass security system. But now we have to get out of town and that might be try.
I hope my magic has area effect capabilities.
