It's a long long book. Huge cast of characters like a typical Regency/Victorian novel and you will love some and hate others. It has a very old fashioned style of story telling and grammar. The footnotes give a added scholarly flavour and some amusement. It takes it time telling the tale of the return of Magic to England by Strange and Norrell. Very much worth the read.
