Gratitude
I am grateful. I am grateful my mother was mostly healthy during her pregnancy with me. (She smoked which robbed me of at least two more inches of height but I am not bitter about being the shortest in my immediate family.) I am grateful my dad was a fair man with me. I am grateful they read to me at bedtime. I am grateful they were responsible drinkers. I am grateful I am normal.
I will be dealing with three children in the future whose parents were not so during the early stages of their lives. I will be trying to get them to understand basic reading, writing and math. I am thinking of ways to make it interesting for them and have something to show for their hard work. Let's hope it works.
