Is it still possible to leave answers/comments in the Shutdown discussion on HASA here? And if yes, how does it work? Sorry for asking such a stupid question but I've never been active and have never figured that out.
I wanted to comment on MEssage 55546 as I can help out with this: The other big work pill, which can be done when the stories are imported to A03, is stories that are unclaimed must have a standard statement inserted into the story overview making clear that the work was imported from HASA. It's just copy/paste of a prepared piece of text, but it is work.
There also needs to be an effort to get the word out to authors that their story(ies) have been relocated. I suspect the communications part will be the most time consuming. I am willing to make an author's email list available in an Excel file to the team that takes over to make communication easier, but otherwise I will not distribute contact info."
Help will be welcome for the AO3 work, definitely.
You can still reply in the HASA discussion thread, provided you have an account as you have to be logged in to reply (I think new accounts haven't been disabled yet, but I'd have to check). I can prepare a how-to-post guide for you if needed *g*
If there's any problem with accounts/posting I can always post messages and I'm keeping track of people offering to help on LJ as well, so plenty of options.
I have an account and was logged in - perhaps I have never been activated or something? I never posted anything and probably also never wrote a review; I couldn't it figure out at first and then found the people in other archives. Some help there would be great, though I don't want to cause extra work; if it's easier and useful, you can just use my email address and give it to whomever might have use for it; or leave a note in my stead that I'm happy to help out with the points mentioned above. I'm Winterwitch on HASA as well as on AO3. Thank you!
It may well be that your account deactivated if you've never logged in after setting it up - reactivating isn't a big deal, but I can also mention that you're interested in helping out in the discussion thread.
Now that you mention it... it had been deactivated because I hadn't logged in for a while (though I did repeatedly after setting it up, to keep some bookmarks/reading list), but I have logged in repeatedly during the last weeks for the HASA rescue project. I can log in without problems, I just don't see any answer/posting/reply buttons in the discussion thread anywhere. Just do what is the least for you to do!
