[Probably lots of people had that name. There was no point in going, "Shina? Did you say Shina?" since he didn't really know how he would describe her anyway.

. . . Oh hold on. He did.]

Shina . . . ? Did you say Shina?

*there's a long pause as she just... stares at the phone*

*that was kind of embarrassing, saying stuff like that with a phone close by that for some reason had somebody she probably didn't know on the other end*

*she picks up the phone*

... I did. Have you seen her?

Um. Maybe.

The Shina I knew was pretty . . . deadly with her tea. If that doesn't make sense, then it's probably a different Shina.

Oh...

...

Shina does love her tea...

She's probably the only person I've ever met who could kill someone with a teacup, too.

...

She did that to me once before...

*is she joking or serious? Or what? It's really hard to tell when she just... sounds so out of it*

... that was a long time ago...

Where is she...?

. . . She's not here anymore. It's been a long time since she left, actually.

... oh...

... that's no good... how long ago was that...?

I think . . . about two months now. I can't remember too well. People come and go all the time.

... how strange... she never mentioned this place...

She probably forgot when she left. Mayfield is like that.

... huh...

... how troubling... this place must be powerful to make her forget...

a_gentle_boy November 19 2010, 04:53:12 UTC
She probably wasn't even the most powerful person to be here. Gods and things like that can't even do anything.

...

*oh Lucas, Arcadians practically are gods in a sense. Nanashi doesn't really feel the need to say anything about that, though*

... what is this place?

((You can handwave the explanation if you want, I still got a good idea of Mayfield's workings, unless there were important recent developments during my time away ._.b ))

((t-thank you. the explanation usually makes me intensely unhappy.))

It's a town called Mayfield, first of all. And, um. Second is that almost everyone here has been kidnapped and trapped -- You've lost all your abilities, too, if you had any, right?

[And he continues on, answering her questions when necessary. Drones and family housing, regains and the post office, the weird things that happen sometime, the little they know about Grady and the Mayor . . . ]

It's hard to believe, but I promise I'm not making any of it up.

... oh, it's not that hard to believe... such a bother, though...

...

[Filtered (when did she suddenly figure out how to do this? Well, she is a tech geek...)]

... did Shina make any plans for escape while she was here...?
