Not a good start to my morning

Feb 08, 2005 08:31

It's Fat Tuesday, so already I'm a little eh about today-- I don't mind Lent, really, it's just something that takes some mental preparation and conviction, and so it's always a bigger deal than it really seems. Well, I get into work this morning and there's a voicemail from one of our biggest clients' finance department. It seems they're angry because their newsletter is going over budget, and they want to drop us.

This newsletter is my responsibility and my project, so understandably, I feel like it's my fault we are over budget. Is it really? No. I've actually spent less hours most times on the editing, etc., but when it comes right down to it, both myself and the designer have to put in extra hours because they're giving us more pages than originally estimated, and they're doing all of it behind schedule, so we have to rush and put extra time into it that we wouldn't ordinarily have to if they'd simply get us information in a cleaner format and ON TIME.

I'm just upset because the lady was being a major bitch about it, but I called my supervisor, who is the account lead, and she's basically like "Meh, I figured they'd complain about that." Hee.

*sigh*

I hope this isn't how the rest of my day is going to go.

In the meanwhile, this year's Lenten sacrifices will be: Decreasing junky food (fast food, junk food, etc.), giving up caffeine, giving up cursing, and giving up road rage.

Wish me luck. :-)
