MOAR.

Light stretched into the hallway through the open door.  Harvey pushed his way inside, and dropped his bags onto the floor, glancing around the room.  He’d only been gone for two hours, and in that time the apartment had become ground zero of a chocolate and candy corn hurricane.  His gaze fell on the Joker, who was stretched out on the floor, surrounded by brightly colored papers and bloody candy buckets shaped like the Batman.  He nudged the clown roughly with his foot, causing an avalanche of wrappers that had been piled on his stomach to fall to the floor.

Harvey rolled his eyes.

“This is Gotham’s finest, here to take you back to the puzzle factory for leaving the goddamn door open.  Get up.”

The Joker grunted and curled up into his pile of Dum Dum sticks and half-eaten Heath bars, mumbling incoherently.  When a few more prods did nothing to rouse the candy-comatose clown Harvey gave up, losing his patience and flinging himself onto the couch.  He flicked a few stray Bottle Caps wrappers and open pixie stix off of the arm rest and sighed exasperatedly, settling into the cushions and turning on the TV.  He hated Halloween.

Crinkling wrappers and a sudden weight on his legs disrupted the nap Harvey hadn’t even realized he had been taking.  He frowned and arched his back, rubbing his eye and glaring at the clown, who had settled himself onto his lap.  Harvey was about to ask if the Joker was bored with his sweets already, but the question was answered for him as yet another piece of candy was drawn out of a purple pocket and popped into a painted mouth.

“Hello there, Haaarvey~”  The clown draped his arms around Harvey’s neck and rested his head against a burned shoulder.

Harvey shifted under the clown’s weight.  The TV was still on and a newscaster droned on about how The Joker, who had already killed nine people for nothing but their Halloween candy, was still on the loose.  He couldn’t fight back the smirk that crossed his lips; even after all the stunts the Joker had pulled since he had arrived in the city, its residents were still shocked at his insanity.  The fact that they still hadn’t gotten used to it yet... It really was funny.

“Looks like you've been busy.  Bring back anything useful, or is it all junk?”

“Junk!?”  The Joker looked aghast.

“Oh Harvey, haven’t you learned anything?  Everything I bring back is useful.”  He pushed the candy around with his tongue, craning his neck to look at the plastic bags his companion had dropped near the door.

“What'd you bring me?  Anything sweet?”

Harvey snorted.  “If by sweet you mean pills and gauze and other things we might actually be able to use, then yeah.  It looks like you got enough crap for ten of us, anyway… Do you even know what that is?”  He pointed at the blue and silver wrapper the clown was opening.

“It’s uh… candy,” The Joker said, amusedly rolling the small piece between his fingers and flicking the wrapper across the couch.

“Thanks for clearing that up.” Harvey grabbed the wrapper and squinted at the tiny characters curiously.

“I’ve never seen this before… Got any more?”

“’Fraid not, Harv, not too many of these around this year.”  Harvey sighed.  He had seen that coming.

The clown popped it into his mouth, grinning wickedly.  “Trick or treat?”

“Wh-“

The Joker’s too-sweet lips pressed against his, saccharine tongue pushing the fizzing morsel into his mouth.  His tongue tingled.

“Never said I wouldn’t share~”
