This is a hobby I've only been able to really indulge in after getting a digital camera with a 5 minute bulb setting.

Oh, and access to 61" telescopes with eyepiece nights.

This was a fairly unexpected hobby for me, but it's been incredibly fun! Thanks, io, for getting me to classes in the first place!!!

I've found that it's also a great way to break stereotypes about scientists, particularly with high school girls.
cello:
I'd always wanted to learn how to play cello, and thanks to one of my officemates, I'm on my way. hmm... perhaps I better practice again, though.

See number 1. Though I also enjoy just being out on our back deck and looking at the Milky Way stretched out overhead.

They have great tea (I was just drinking Preferred White Peony tonight) and have a lovely tea house just a few blocks from campus. I keep wanting to go for a tea ceremony sometime, but just haven't scheduled it yet. It seems most of our celebratory times of year have been too full of other stuff. They also offer classes to learn the tea ceremonies, but they are expensive.
swing dancing:
We used to go a couple times a month, but haven't been in so long. We still managed some nice moves at my friend's wedding in August. :)

And I still want to learn lifts!
texas-style barbeque:
The dry rub, no sauce, put it in the smoker with mesquite wood for 12 hours kind of barbeque.

And my love makes the best I've ever had.
