Since my old 2010-era iPhone 4 only records 720p video, there are only so many pixels to work with when applying a "digital zoom" The lack of any optical zoom on the phone and its limited resolution are particularly obvious when trying to capture something decent of a critter that is inclined to run away.

Still, it's not like I'm complaining: I'm old enough to be impressed with any device I can keep in my shirt pocket that not only records 1280x720 video to solid-state memory but then also wirelessly uploads it to the cloud. This stuff used to be science fiction. (And it's not like I need to make better critter videos anyway.)
