I forgot to update for a while. First, the present.
I've got a lot of things in the next couple of months. Some I should be looking forward to but I'm not, some I should be (and am) dreading, and others are just quasi-life-altering decisions I must make. But nothing in my future, near or far, am I really looking forward to. And that kinda sucks.
The election came and went, and the worst came to pass. No, I don't mean the reelection of Dubya. He's an alright guy, though I sure didn't vote for him. I mean the EASY reelection of Dubya. It was exactly what I didn't want. No excitement at all.
And yet, in the aftermath, I wasn't all that disapointed. I don't know why, but I wasn't. Maybe because too much other stuff was going on, but anyway, it was a good thing.
So Titor is out for sure. But I'm still fairly confident that this "Fourth Turning" theory is correct. That means we'll have a twenty year or so long crisis in the near future, like the Revolution, or the Depression and World War II combined, or the Civil War, but longer than that.
Peak oil is still a possibility, and might cause the crisis. I've also heard about the dollar devaluing enormously, which could potentially cause a huge economic crisis.
I found a profession that I really am thinking of getting into: Landscape Architecture. As a undergraduate, I basically can't major in it for reasons I don't want to take the time to type out. But I could do a 3 year LA masters program at UF after college, if I can find the money for it.
There's so much I don't know about this field, but I believe that "designing communities" would be something that a Landscape Architect concerns himself with, and that is a top interest of mine.
So now I'm kind of hoping for peace and prosperity until 2010 so I can get my edumacation properly.
