KHR 239

That last page was all kinds of awesome, mainly because I picked up immediately on Gokudera standing at Tsuna's right hand. ♥ Incidentally, Tsuna doesn't seem too worried that he's missing two of his guardians, but no doubt they'll show up (all suited up and everything) in due time.

Gintama 258

It's nice that the series has fallen into the pattern of guaranteeing us at least one serious arc per year, but thus far I've been reserving judgment on this one. It might have something to do with how one of the things I've always liked about Gintama is its strong (for a Jump series) female cast, and how I've really gotten attached to Tsukuyo in particular; here's to hoping that she doesn't simply stay relegated to 'damsel in distress' status for the rest of the arc. *winces*

With that said, it's good that things are finally picking up a bit. You tell him, Gin-san. ♥

DGM 186

...I think I've already worn myself out angsting over this chapter on other people's journals. Not sure if anyone knows of the American TV series Supernatural, but DGM suddenly strikes me as the equivalent of Supernatural among current running Jump series. Apart from shared religious themes, they're both series were absolutely none of the characters have a happy past, or find themselves in a happy present, and there just doesn't seem to be any way for things to plausibly end well. The whole thing just keep on getting more and more ominous and heartbreaking, and yet somehow that makes you love the characters even more. :(

*still wibbling from some of Kanda's expressions in this chapter* Get well soon, Katsura, you hear? :P

Chinese Short Story Rec

Probably not a particularly relevant or useful piece of information, but I read this short story for my Chinese lit class a couple of weeks ago, and really loved it to bits. It was a pleasant surprise just now to find it on Baidu. ♥

Looking just at the first few sections, it didn't seem like the kind of thing I'd like at all. But then it builds as it gets closer to the end and...yeah. ^_^* Apparently, I like things that hit me over the head with more emotional intensity than I know what to do with.
