Dir en grey!
We just got back tonight from seeing Dir en grey and Apocalyptica in Atlanta!!! Diru was AMAZING! The amount of energy that live had was manic!
After waiting in line for a good four or so hours, we got inside, hit up the merch booth and got our seats. Since we were on Die's side last time, we stood on Kao's side this time around. I think we'll be going to his side if we have a choice again! He's SO into the show and wants EVERYONE to be that into it too. Since we were, he kept looking over at us X3 I tried to stay out of my camera for the most part, since I was SO scared about never seeing them again last time, that I watched my cam more than them. Sometimes when I'd hold it up to record something he'd look over and give me this "Really? Oh c'mon" type of look XD Shut up, Kao, I want a video to watch later XDDD
The set list was shorter than the last time, but it was REALLY REALLY great, so we didn't even care! They actually came out for an encore as well!!! I've NEVER heard of them doing that before. Maybe it was because when they did The Final, the crowd drowned out EVERYONE singing along. It was like our Garden. Very moving <3
Totchi's back to his good old self! We were all super worried about him, since he's just been... dead lately. For a long time. He didn't seem like he even wanted to be there anymore... Turns out, all he needed was a skirt and some braces XD He was having a GREAT time out there, bouncing around for us. SO glad to see him NORMAL again! Kyo was a little tired and it showed. His singing was still flawless and jawdropping, but he wasn't launching off of things and spazzing like usual. I can't blame him though! Their schedule for this tour is pretty grueling ;___;
We ended up making friends with a girl from Florida in the line XD She was super nice and it turns out she plays Subeta like Sabi and I too 8D We split up once we got inside though, because she was heading off for Die's side XD
Anyways, Kao WANTS your attention. He WILL have your attention. So needless to say, by the time they were off stage for good, I didn't have any spit to swallow, I was left with half a voice and my arms were so tired I could hardly keep them up XD They STILL hurt actually. I was going nuts over there XDD We didn't manage to catch anything this time around. Kao tried to throw a pick in our direction, but the row ahead of us got it. Oh well, eye contact with most of the show from Kao and Totchi was worth it <3 Kyo wasn't really looking over to our side too much this time around. And hell, Die could've been on the other side of the earth, he was so far off.
Apocolyptica was AMAZING too! I'm not a huge fan, but oh my god, how great! I've NEVER seen people mosh and hold up lighters for a classical song before XD Their metal is great, their classical pieces are stunning... and they're FUNNY! I was really caught off guard by that! I didn't expect them to be hilarious on stage! They run around, jump around with their cellos, make exaggerated faces and it's awesome! The tall blonde guy (Eicca, Sabi says) has a GORGEOUS smile. It's infectious. He looks over and smiles and you can't help but beam back at him. Paavo (the shorter haired guy) needs some Ritalin XD He is ALL OVER THE PLACE! It's funny XD And there's one guy, Perttu (long dark hair) looks so much like Sabi's character, Arret, I couldn't stop watching him. He's really cool and funny too! Their sweet drummer Mikko is just adorable! And quite awesome too XD A lot of people left before they came in, since Diru came on first, but they really missed a GREAT time! Their merch booth was EMPTY earlier in the day, once they got off stage, you couldn't fight through that crowd to get their album XDDD
We got new t-shirts, wristbands, new DVD and a poster <3 I grabbed the Apocalyptica album too (It's WONDERFUL!!!! Go buy it!!).
OH!!! Oh the way out, their tour buses were parked out front and they were loading their gear into a trailer. And guess what was sitting on the damn sidewalk? KYO'S GRATE/BOX/THING! O_O Y'know, that platform he's always on? (Oh, that's the only piece of equipment I've EVER seen get screams and an INSANE amount of cheering. Ever XD) So... I touched it XD I ran up like a nerd and popped it with my hand then bounced off laughing. Worth it! Plus, no one cared XD
I'll have pics and vids up later, because I'm EXHAUSTED! We really put a LOT into them and they gave it all back. Fucking life-affirming XDD
