Bravo 6A/LJ...

...you just managed to enrage us even more.

Now we have a few more clarifications about content that is and isn't allowed on LJ that don't say a damned thing. So fanfics are mostly allowed, but fanarts can come under the banhammer faster than you can blink.

They were so friendly to refer us to the place where they get their definitions, but ignored the fact that they're now labeling things as child porn that clearly don't meet the conditions (meaning anything that's written, drawn or sculpted).

And they don't even agree on why ponderosa121 was permanently banned. Now, was or wasn't it, because the art lacked serious artistic merit?

Another that's not acceptable is that fanworks and users can be banned, if they're reported, because they contain a sexual situation between fictional characters and hurt absolutely no one, nevermind promote illegal activity, but communities were self-harm of any kind is promoted and is actually harmful for members (for example proanorexia) are protected by freedom of speech.

The argument that sexual explicit fanworks could harms children and teenager is so laughable. Almost everyone warns if sex or anything that might squick someone is contained and the content isn't safe for all ages. There are ratings (we even have our own system for fanwork). We put fanworks behind a lj-cut. If a fourteen year old sees two teenager or adults having sex, she was properly warned and decided to ignore these warnings. Parents are responsible for their children and it's their responsibility to controll that their children don't do things they aren't supposed to.

This mess even reached the German news magazine Der Spiegel, which is a welcome surprise.
