When Shouta came to see Takeru, he seemed quite down, though he was glad to see that the chibi was well. Surprisingly to Takeru, Shouta had asked if they could talk in the dining room rather than his room or lounge, and Takeru slightly frowned as they sat at the dining table with a can each of V, waiting for what Shouta had to say.

"So, I hear that you and Masato are leaving for Chiba," Takeru said, though he was staring at the table. The silence was thick and was torturing him. "Has Chiyu come to see you?" the other asked, ignoring what was said before. Takeru sighed and shook his head.
"I haven't bothered contacting him. How is he doing anyway?" Takeru knew that Shouta had been spending time with the bassist, much thanks to Masato texting him about whatever Chiyu got up to.
"He's... feeling better..."
The chibi nodded, also knowing perfectly well that Chiyu had been stressing about Yuji.

According to Masato, Chiyu had been avoiding conversation about Yuji and Takeru, which had the rest of the band worried. The couple hadn't seen each other since the incident, and Shouta knew that Takeru was feeling like a 'bad boyfriend' for not contacting him, though Chiyu seemed to be handling it perfectly well.
They sat in more dreadful silence, patiently waiting for a topic to come about while playing with their cans of V.

"Do you want to see him?" the tobacco blond suddenly asked, beginning to toy with his piercing. Slowly, Takeru nodded, glancing outside the window.

------

On the way there, Takeru texted Yuji to tell him where he was going, and luckily it was lunchtime there when he sent it. They came to a halt as they found the door to the studio, and Shouta softly sighed before twisting the door handle.

Dreams & Dust were in the middle of a song, though the noise drained away when they all heard the door open. And the first person to react was Mitsuru -- to Shouta.

"What are you doing here?" He tightened his grip around his drum sticks as he watched Masato turn off his amp and put his guitar down.

"Hey guys." Takeshi smiled before placing his microphone on the stand. "Uh..." He looked around to the drummer. "I'm off to get drinks." He turned to the visitors. "Want anything?"

Shouta shook his head for the both of them as the purple-haired boy smiled again, walking past the two and out the door.

"I'll ask again," Mitsuru growled. "What are you doing here?"
"It's okay," Chiyu said, putting his bass down. "He's here to see me."
He didn't look at Takeru at all.

"No," Shouta said, smiling apologetically. "I'm only escorting Takeru."

It was only then that Chiyu laid his eyes on him, and Takeru saw that he was still hurting over Yuji. "He's perfectly fine," the chibi said, taking a few steps over to Chiyu. "He'll be here soon."

They all began talking freely to one another (apart from Mitsuru and Shouta), and Takeru was glad that Chiyu was starting to cheer up. He was locked in the bassist's arms, and his head rested under his chin, and Masato looked a bit jealous at how they were acting, because Mitsuru was being rather distant from him.

It was a while before Takeshi returned, and he even brought Yuji with him.

"Yuji!" chanted the rest of Dreams & Dust, and the honey blond smiled as he greeted Mitsuru and Masato with a brief nod. When he looked over to Chiyu and Takeru though, the smile slightly faded.

"How was school?" Shouta asked, causing Yuji to be distracted from them. "Ah," he said, shaking his head.
"I wagged -- sat in the music class all day!" he added quickly when he saw everyone's face change at the mention of skipping school.

"That isn't like you to be bunking[1]..." Chiyu frowned, and Shouta and Masato stared at him. "...'bunking'?" they both asked.
Even Takeru turned his head with a questioning gaze.

"Bunking; wagging -- whatever. Same thing..." he muttered, and Takeshi laughed. "Don't forget he isn't a Kantou guy."
There was a murmur of 'oh's and 'I knew that' and then agreements before it fell silent, which made Yuji feel uncomfortable.

Noticing this, Masato motioned for him to sit next to him, just so they could talk about their guitars, since Mitsuru seemed to be ignoring him now.

After a short while, Shouta decided to join in Chiyu's and Takeru's conversation, while Takeshi took his place next to Mitsuru and began talking about their new songs.

"I want to start a rap group!" Yuji said loudly, causing everyone else to stare at him, and Masato tried to stifle his laughter.
"You're still going on about that?" Chiyu asked, smiling as Yuji nodded his head enthusiastically. "Don't try to get me to join," the platinum blond said, and Shouta laughed.
"Yeah, seeing as we're leaving soon."

There was a sudden silence as Masato, Yuji and Takeru stared at him with wide eyes, and the rest were confused looks. Though, Mitsuru's was a glare.

"Shit..." Shouta muttered, and Masato heaved a long sigh.

"You're leaving?" Mitsuru hissed, anger rising in his voice. "You're going to run away with him?" He shot a death glare to the tobacco blond, who was frowning at the drummer's words.

"Calm down, Mitsuru..." Takeshi said quietly, afraid of how his band leader would start acting. "I am calm."

Everyone's gazes were now on Masato. He had his head down, and his eyes were not visible to anyone but Yuji, who rubbed his back soothingly.

"I quit," he muttered, standing suddenly and giving an apologetic look to Chiyu. He didn't want to look at the drummer.
"Come on, Shouta." Masato stormed out of the studio, and Shouta followed confusedly.

The remaining members of Dreams & Dust sat in shock -- especially Mitsuru.

"You're pathetic," Yuji said loudly. "You were everything to him, Micchan. If you didn't get so jealous easily, he wouldn't be leaving the city."

Everyone looked at the guitarist questioningly.

"Do you really think that Shouta would steal him away from you?"

Silence.

"If you don't go after him now, you're going to lose him."

Takeru could tell that Yuji was trying to see how strong Mitsuru felt for Masato. And right now it seemed he didn't give a damn.

"You won't see him for a few days..."
"Get out."

The command was sudden and it made everyone jump.

"Mi--"
"I said get out! Nothing is going to fuckin' change in a few days! Get the fuck out, Yuji!"

The honey blond stood, irritated. But he didn't move. Instead, he opened his mouth to say one last thing.

"Plenty can change in a few days."

***

Being back in Chiba brought back many childhood memories for Masato; especially since it had been almost two years since he had been there. Shouta had gone off to see his own parents, promising to come around later on.

Adjusting the red bag that hung on his shoulder, he opened the front door to his parents' house. His heart raced for an unknown reason.
Maybe it was the awkwardness that was to come, or maybe he was scared that his parents would not want to speak to him.

"Tadaima..." he said shyly, unsure if his voice was loud enough. But maybe it was the sound of the door opening that caused someone to poke their head out from the room to the right -- his mother.

"Maatan!" she gasped, frozen in the pathway to the living room.

"Hi, Okaasan..." Masato awkwardly shut the door behind him and toed off his shoes, while his mother watched him.

"Did your band break up?" the lady questioned, and Masato shook his head, moving towards her to embrace her.
"Did your flat mate kick you out? Is school getting hard there? Too expensive? Are you coming back to live with us?"

She hugged her eldest son tightly and the questions kept coming. Masato had not been in much contact with his parents, or younger brother. But there was a phone call every now and then. Just that he didn't tell them he was coming back for a while.

"Is Otousan home?" he interrupted, letting go to look at his mother's face -- it was pointed like his own, eyes and plump lips the same. She smiled.

"He will be soon. Are you hungry? I could make you a little snack before dinner."

The blond politely declined, saying that he'd be up in his room. But before he went off to run up the stairs, he stopped and turned.

"Oh, Okaasan -- Shouta-kun will be coming over."

***

When Mitsuru saw that his apartment did not have another presence in it, he felt his heart slightly tear. It was odd to be alone.

'Nothing will change...' he kept telling himself -- not wanting to believe Yuji's words.

He stood in front of Masato's bedroom door, remembering when the shorter teen first moved in; how he joked about sleeping in Mitsuru's bed more than his own -- and it was true. They had spent every second with each other.

Moving to his own room, he noticed that nothing had been taken. Masato's clothing was scattered around the floor, left untouched.

'At least this hasn't changed.'

***

Even though it was a school night, it had been decided between them that Takeru would crash over at Yuji's apartment, since sitting around at home for about two weeks wasn't going to be very eventful.

All was quiet when they arrived, just after dinner, toeing off their shoes and lights flickered on as the door was closed behind them.

"Where am I sleeping?" Takeru suddenly asked, removing his jacket and following Yuji in to the bedroom.
"My bed, if you don't mind."

For once in a long time, Takeru blushed, at the thought of sleeping in the same bed as Yuji, since he knew perfectly well of the other boy’s feelings still, which he really needed to give an answer to.

It wasn't like he wanted to say yes or no; it was just that they had become too close, and Takeru didn't want to have anything change.

Yuji took the black bag Takeru brought with his clothes and such inside, and the smaller blond placed himself on the bed.
"So... what do you want to do tonight?" he asked, watching his friend tidy up a little.

"Um..." The bag was placed on the chair at the desk and he shuffled papers around to make them look a bit neater. “Don't know. Go out, maybe? Or watch a movie?"
Shoving the papers into a drawer, Yuji turned back to look at Takeru. He was now lying down, eyes fixated on the ceiling and one leg raised while his hands rested behind his head.

"Movie sounds nice."

***

Masato's father welcomed his son home with open arms, though he didn't bombard him with questions like his mother.

"So what are you doing back in Chiba?" he smiled, before kissing his wife's cheek. "And where is your brother?"
The man looked around the room, hoping to catch sight of his other son, but Masato's mother sighed and shook her head.
"Camp, darling. I told you that yesterday."

She went back to setting up the table while the other two began conversing. "Did you come with anyone?"
The guitarist nodded with a wide smile, about to open his mouth to tell who -- but there was a knock at the door.
"That's him there," he said, standing up and rushing to answer.

"Please tell me I can stay here tonight," was the first thing Shouta said when Masato opened the door.
"Huh? Why?"
A small frown made its way on to his face, and the taller boy sighed.
"My mom treats me like her teddy bear, or something. It's like she's sick of my siblings."

Stepping aside to let him in, Masato smiled knowingly how Shouta's family was.
"Not funny, Maatan." He pouted, kicking off his shoes before bending down to place them neatly to the side. "One of the reasons I planned coming here tonight, anyway."

The blond nodded and closed the door, then led his visitor to the living room.

"Hisashiburi.[2]" Shouta bowed at the sight of Masato's parents -- hands resting by his sides as he dipped low.
"Good evening, Shouta-kun." Masato's mother smiled. "Just in time for dinner."

Straightening up, he gave a shy smile as the guitarist's father beamed at the two. "How have you been?! It's a good thing there's plenty of junk food to go around!"

***

It was almost 1AM when the movie finished, and the two boys were already dressed in pajamas -- Yuji wearing next to nothing while Takeru wore a baggy shirt with his boxers.

The chibi blond tucked himself in, while the other turned the lounge lights off, and he reached to switch on the lamp as Yuji entered the room and turned off the main light, then shut the door.

Takeru's heart began to beat a little faster as Yuji slid in next to his left; he pulled the duvet closer to his chin, and Yuji's scent filled his nostrils. He never thought or took much notice of it, but he noted that Yuji smelt like lemon and honey.
He wanted to move closer; the aroma was definitely attractive, but he was afraid of giving the wrong idea.

"Hey, are you listening?" Yuji was suddenly hovering above Takeru, his right arm supporting most of his weight while his left hand tangled in light ash blond hair.

Heart hammering, a light blush tinted Takeru's cheeks as they stared at each other's eyes.
"S-sorry..." he mumbled, hoping Yuji would go back to lying down.

The older boy smiled, shifting slightly, but enough for Takeru to inhale the sweet and sour scent, and his eyes closed as he exhaled, murmuring something -- and Yuji chuckled.

"Everyone I've been with says that..." he said in a low voice, and Takeru's eyes snapped open, face flushing darker for accidentally letting that slip.

The smile still played on those thin lips, and dark orbs bore into his. Yuji's scent hypnotized him; eyes half closed and lips slightly parted; heart beating with allegro[3], almost hurting, but comforting, knowing who was causing it.

"Takeru," the honey blond whispered, as Takeru's eyes had slipped shut. He blinked several times, not believing how close they were now -- like a few months ago.

Yuji's lips were at least three millimeters away from his; breath lightly tickling him. He waited for Yuji to close the gap, but only felt warm air ghosting over instead. Dark pools locked together as their position stayed as it was, and Takeru mentally screamed at the other to hurry up.

He could see fear in the eyes above him; and he gave his best pleading look -- sick of the hesitation.

They kissed.

A gasp of surprise left the older boy as Takeru parted his lips a little more, allowing Yuji to shyly dip his tongue into the warm cavern, enjoying the new taste. His fear had been pushed aside -- Takeru making it disappear for the time being, because he had swallowed his fear.

But all that came scratching at his heart when Takeru suddenly turned his head away -- cheeks flushed and all. But Yuji didn't stop there.

He placed feather-light kisses on the boy's cheek, moving down to his neck, where his tongue darted out at the sensitive skin.

"Don't." Takeru's voice shook, freezing Yuji in the middle of his actions. His lips were pressed against the chibi's Adam's apple as he thought about what he was just doing.

"...Shit," he hissed, getting off with wide, apologetic eyes. And Takeru turned to look at him.

"I'm sorry," they both said at the same time, and both males smiled. "I didn't mean for it to go that far..."
Yuji spoke to the ceiling, trying to avoid the boy's gaze.

"More haste, less speed."

A frown appeared on Yuji's face, trying to figure out what it meant, and Takeru chuckled softly.

"The faster you go, the longer it takes." He yawned, turning to face the wall. "Good night, Yuji."

The other blond smiled, his heart fluttering at those words -- because he knew that he wasn't rushing to get Takeru. He took things slow.

But as he switched off the lamp and wriggled in to a more comfortable position, he felt the pain in his chest rising.
He knew Takeru would regret everything when he woke up.
