If he's on a low enough income, he might be able to get the Housing Trust (or Housing SA? whatever they're called now) to pay the bond. We had to do that when we moved because we're poor, haha. It's a bit of a hassle to do all the forms but they basically pay for you, then you give them the money back when you move out.

Wow! Thanks for this information! That'll really help! How fast can you get it though? Coz James needs to move out by next week! He gets like 300 a week + bi-monthly centerlink...

Lol..James has always thought that Housing SA thingy meant living in goverment housing...

It's pretty fast. I'm pretty sure you just go in for an appointment to prove that your income is low enough, then they approve you, and then when you find a place you just take stuff in there for them to sign it. Maybe call them to check what the procedure is because he might have to take in payslips or something.

Haha, yes, I always felt weird going in there, because Housing Trust houses have such a dodgy reputation. But it's worth it to not have to find $1000 to pay for the stupid bond, haha.
