cold]
[music| Gackt - Returner~Yami no Shuuen~]
It's like 14 degrees outside and one of my housemates still has the air-con, yes, as in you know, COLD AIR, turned on to 23 degrees wtf. -_-lll Oh god it's so bloody cold. I've already turned my air-con off, but i really wish i can turn the heater on.....I can't feel my fingers...(;´Д`;)
Anyway, was talking to a few China girls from my class today, and apparently, one of them thought i was....Korean. -_-lll What. Okay, granted, she hasn't seen my face at that time, only my name but still! Do any Koreans have Yip as their surname!? o_O I've had ppl pronounce my real, given name in a Spanish way before in my presence, like, looking straight at me, (which makes it even freakier actually...), but Korean...now that's different. And the other girl, she said "Why are you so fair? I thought you were Japanese at first. Aren't Malaysians supposed to be darker?"
-_____________-lll
It's shocking how some ppl don't know that Malaysia actually has like....3 main races, Malays, Chinese and Indians. So, she either thought that i'm supposed to be Malay, despite us talking in Chinese all the while, or she thinks that Southern Chinese, which most Malaysian Chinese are descended from, should be darker? orz
But one thing i do know, non-Malaysian Chinese love to call everyone from Malaysia, regardless of race, as 'Malays'. -_-lll
Anyway, okay, so maybe how my dad and Momoyo always say i look Japanese does have some grain of truth in it.....i personally don't think so though...well, at least no one's said i look Korean....(゚∀゚) We're calling Momoyo 'kimchi' these days coz she got her hair cut and curled in Taiwan, and now she really looks Korean...o(≧∇≦)o She hates that btw. (o^-')b
Am currently addicted to a few tv series these days. I'm currently watching:
1. Scrubs
Finally found a bunch of episodes on the Village network! ヽ(´▽`)ノ God i love this series!
2. Reaper
Found this on the network too. It's funny, and something a bit different, i really like this a lot!
3. True Blood
I kinda read the book before, so decided to check this out. It's not awesome, but watching Scrubs and Reaper only gets kinda boring, so i decided to throw this in too.
4. CSI: NY
This week!!! The new episode is coming out THIS WEEK!
Thank god i managed to find these seires! With the Easter break coming, and my quota nearly finished, it's such a miracle!
Anyway, we were talking abt literacy in young children and shared reading today at class and i just realized that you know what? I don't have a single recollection of being read to in Chinese before when i was a young child, despite it supposedly being my first language. I don't know if it's because of that, but i totally suck at writing Chinese. I can speak it well and have no problems communicating in it with Chinese speakers, but when it comes to writing an essay, or reading an article, i totally suck at it. I just hate it. -_-lll Is it coz my mom placed so much importance on it during my first few years? We spoke Chinese at home, but when it comes to bedtime stories and picture books, i can only remember English ones. I just find English so much easier than Chinese. Come on, there's like how many alphabets in English and how many characters in Chinese? -_-lll Even Japanese is easier than Chinese, i mean, character-wise. But yeah, just something that made me think...
Will be meeting Emil for lunch tomorrow (again!)! Was supposed to meet Wing actually, but she had a telephone interview so....but yeah! Wedges and sour cream and sweet chilli! Omg.....ヽ(´ー`)ノ Can't wait! And this Saturday, Wing and I will be going to Glenelg to this really awesome cafe that serves the best scones and chocolate fondue! Omg....i'm so happy!!!! o(≧∇≦)o Yeah that assignment due next Wednesday is so totally not gonna get done...
Also, Happy Easter everyone! Remember to eat lots of chocolate!
