Slice of life; Angst
"Yah, wanna die?"  "I wouldn't mind since it's you" "Are you crazy" "Just a little bit"

For atenais_pala's birthday!

Thorns

The grey puffs of smoke rose slowly into the night sky as Seung Hyun pressed back into the cold wood bench. The musty smell of the rain last night mixed with the burnt tobacco made a peculiar smell around the atmosphere.
 He liked it.

And the stars hanging down from the sky seemed like it too, as it shone dimly.

Seung Hyun was wearing a light green shirt with a torn pair of jeans. He had his blade lightly placed against his chest, glistening with the street lights. Touching it gently, his heart ached.

Too fast to live

Too young to die

Were the words engraved on the metal surface of the sharp object.

The boy had always wondered the meaning of the phrases and reason why it was there.

The chain hanging down from his belt clanked against the steel legs when he sat up. Taking another drag from the short cigarette, he closed his eyes to listen to the crickets chirping about in the distance; the rustling of the leaves from the wind swaying by.

It was beautiful.

His slender fingers moved gracefully along the ebony and ivory keys of the grand piano. As he pressed them, Seung Hyun can see the music notes floating above creating a mesmerizing sound around.

The man had his eye lids closed with a gentle smile. His dark hair had partly covered his right eye and reached to his shoulder.

He was playing their song.

“See anything fascinating in the dark?” asked a familiar voice as Seung Hyun woke to a sudden startle. “Thought you might like some company” Ji Yong mused, taking the seat beside him.

He had on a light black jacket with a pair of shorts that reached his knees. Ji Yong’s hair appeared wet as it stuck to his forehead.

“Are you staking me now?” the dark haired boy asked.

“I’ll let your imagination go wild...” the other answered, looking away. “Don’t have a place to stay?” Ji Yong spoke after a while, being careful with his words.

“That’s none of your business” Seung Hyun simply said, beginning to walk the other direction. Ji Yong chuckled,

“Haven’t you ever heard the quote ‘we are all connected’?” he asked, not meeting his eyes.

“Seems like they are always for the wrong things...” Seung Hyun replied.

“I was just worried, okay?” Ji Yong persisted.

“Who are you anyways? Calling me your boyfriend without even asking the other party is pretty low. Just fucking leave me alone, I don’t need anyone to worry about me....no one has anyways...” the other yelled, only whispering the last part.

“I just like you, okay?” he said, softly.

“Seung Hyun, when someone says they like you, they hold you at a special place in their heart”

“Their heart?”

“Yes, right here” he replied, drawing a circle on his chest.

“Do you like me?”

“Very much”

“Don’t just go around and say you like people, when you don’t....” Seung Hyun finished before starting his bike.

The boy cried out loud,

“I thought you liked me”

He could still hear his tender words soothing him with the soft music of their song playing alongside.
