Why So Serious?

Hi Everybody!

Well there have been many changes in my world since I last posted. First of all, I've moved. I'm about to be unemployed and I'm starting beginning Japanese in September!

I miss living with stark_black and 'de child and all the animals but I needed my own space. But the thing I miss most is being able to just run out of my room after reading/watching something really awesome and make her watch it with me. Oh well, now when that happens I'll just hop in my car and drive the five minutes to her place and tell her about it.

Like I said, I only moved about five minutes away from Stark so this isn't such a big change. My place is just about as ideal as it gets for me. I'm living in a very fancy two car garage. When I say very fancy, I mean it! I've got my own living room, kitchen, a big bedroom, a bathroom and my own washer and dryer. The living room and kitchen share the same room but it's a big space. The kitchen is pretty big, and I actually have more cabinets in there than I have stuff for! I got a new TV to replace my ancient one and was able to move my mom's armoire in that was in storage at a friend's place.

The most awesome thing about this place is the property it's on. I'm very close to Richmond Beach, in fact I can see the water from my parking space on the hill. I have an even better view of The Sound if I go into the back yard! My landlord has a goldfish pond, an organic vegetable garden, the beginnings of a fruit orchard and CHICKENS!

There are about 8 chickens and a rooster. I'm not sure what kind of chickens they are but there are two of each breed. There are two small white ones, I think they are called leghorns or something like that. They mainly run around clucking. Then there are to big black and white spotted ones, I'm told they like to be petted, There are two black ones, I don't think they like people too much. My favorite ones are the two brown ones. They're light brown and REALLY fluffy! Whenever we're outside together, we talk to each other. Then, there's the rooster. Everyone tells me that he's aggressive and doesn't like new people; but he doesn't seem to mind me all that much. He just watches me and clucks when I'm outside.

As I mentioned above, I'm about to be unemployed. I've never been happier!  No more dealing with poop and other bodily fluids! The great thing is that I've already got an interview for another job! It's on Monday  and I can't wait. Maybe this time I'll have a job where I'm actually told what I'm supposed to do instead of hearing it third or fourth hand two weeks after it was said.

The other good news is my Japanese class!  stark_black and I are taking the class together and I haven't been this excited for school in a very long time! This is also a big deal for me since all of the learning disability experts I've talked to throughout my life have told me that learning a language as complex as Japanese is impossible with my learning disability, I can't wait to prove them wrong!

On  the less fun side, I'm fighting Group Health for health insurance. I get to appeal again because I've been denied for a condition that I don't have. I'm really looking forward to explaining this whole cluster fuck. I'll have to do some deep breathing before I get on the phone to work this out.

On an entirely different note, I've been reading some really good zombie books! I highly recommend them! Here's the list so far:
-Feed by Mira Grant
-Dead City by Joe McKinney
-Infected and Contagious by Scott Sigler
-Patient Zero by Jonathan Mayberry

That is all
