for anyone who I haven't talked to already, I'm going to be staying in covington at my grandmother's concrete bunker of a condo with my family for the storm. I can't really process all the different storm info anymore, but at least katrina already knocked down all the tallest trees around my parents' house in abita so hopefully no trees will fall on it. more worried about wind and rain around here than flooding.
