I'm in austin! I have been for a few days. I am here for 2 weeks and this week my sister is working but next week she is not and we are going to do fun things. georgia is awesome, despite being in an ornery stage (she is 2 years old, after all). this morning before she left for school she told me "I love you TOO much," but she also often tells me "NO" for no particular reason as well as not to get into the hammock with her. she is obsessed with the miss nelson books, with winnie the pooh, and with monsters inc. we got her a blow up pool for the backyard last weekend and she is pretty into that as well. my sister's backyard is amazing these days, I will have to take pictures and put them on flickr.

I got two things shipped here before I left new orleans - speaking of leaving new orleans, I somehow managed to wake up/leave my house (both things occurred within about a 5 minute time period) at 6 am and actually get on my flight that left at 7:05. how did I do that? I didn't even really speed that much. it still mystifies me - anyway, thing one was my external hard drive! I finally ordered one! now my computer is all backed up and I am so happy about it! once again, I love having a mac - being a person who does not know much about computers, I was slightly apprehensive that backing up my hard drive might take some figuring out on my part, but no. I hooked up the external drive and time machine automatically opened up and was all "do you want to back up your whole computer on this drive?" and I was all "yes" and that is it. I love you apple.

the second thing I got shipped here was this book (one for my sister and one for me), printing by hand by lena corwin http://www.amazon.com/Printing-Hand-Handmade-Stencils-Screens/dp/1584796723/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1216825440&sr=8-1, that tells you how to print with stamps (and make your own stamps), and stencils, and screen printing. now, when I am sad about the existence of amazing hundred dollar throw pillows (http://www.lenacorwin.com/shop.php) that I will never buy because how ridiculous is it that hundred dollar throw pillows even exist, I can just design my own pattern and make one! (eventually, one day, when I have all the materials etc.) I am particularly excited about the stamping stuff, because of this awesome looking block printed tablecloth that is in the book. I could totally do that!
