someone crashed my dreams.

i used to lay among the wildflowers
wish on the stars and imagine the clouds
were my kingdom. i wanted to
fly into the heavens and rest on the clouds
like an angel.

like the angel i'm not.

someone came along, and carried me
to the heavens. took me to the stars,
i got burned. let me touch the clouds
and i was soaked in their truthful candor.
soaked to the bone. the truth hurts.

the truth can kill.

so who stole me away and broke my
innocence? who let me touch my dreams?

thus shattering them

i was wrong.
my innocence as never stolen nor lost.
it was just forgotten about.
