Well, I feel like I haven't posted in a long time! Which... Isn't actually that true. But, I am now going so much more that it feels weird when I don't post for a week.
In any case, I'm really feeling like I'm starting to gain some traction on my progress. I've been using more clay lately. Basically, I'm obsessed with using a ton of clay. =) It's more fun! Plus, there are a few projects that I've had in mind for a LONG time that I'm finally starting to feel like I could possibly accomplish! But, I'll get to those later. This entree is about catching up! So, that means that I need to start with last week!
I was glazing a long-lost cup, and remembered that I don't think I posted a picture of where we keep our work once it's ready to be fired! After a piece dries (slowly) enough that it's not in danger of cracking, (and you've applied colored slip if you want to) you put it on the Greenware shelf to be bisqued! (a piece that I posted before, but now trimmed and ready for firing!)
After that, you glaze. When you have finished glazing, you put in on the Glazed shelf to be loaded for the glaze firing. (See that little cup? That's mine!)
Each time a piece is fired, it is placed somewhere to be picked up. For the most part, bisqued stuff ends up on the self and glazed stuff ends up all over the tables. But, there's some inter-play between the two.
Don't we have a pretty studio? Oh Sugar Hill Clay, how I love thee.
I thought I would end this entree with a "feature" picture of the lost cup. He's been though quite a journey to actually get finished! Haha...
