The sewers were toxic; there was little around this -- the acid rain dranied and collected, the gas fumes were caught -- this was a bad place to be if you had to breathe.
Harth didn't. He did, however, burn if he got wet -- and so he is wrapped and gloved, a cloth wrapped over his mouth as he begins the exploratino of the underground. An electric lantern is on his hip, unlit, a flashlight in hand (on and gleaming), a case and clipboard in other other for map making and notes -- as he begins to walk the underground.
After all, if they can't go over the wall, it might be good to find ways under it. And to other places... Like the hospital.
