intro for Brigit's flame
Hello! My name is Harshita, and I fancy myself as a bit of a writer. I found
brigits_flame through Spotlight, and I really like the idea! At first I was quite nervous about joining, but what the hell! It sounds like a win-win situation to join, and I'm jumping in with both feet.
I'm a 19 year old college student in New Delhi, India. I'm studying at Lady Shri Ram College in the Delhi University, majoring in Political Science. My summer vacations are just about to get over and I'll be in my final year, and it's completely freaking me out to think I'll be out of college in just a year! Added to the fact that I have just about no idea what to do/study next. :-/ I also work with The Viewspaper (a youth newspaper thingy) as a Fiction Section editor, just for kicks.
Its quite common in India for college students in India to live with their parents if their college is in the same city. I live with my family too, my parents and a younger brother who I dote upon. He's 14, and he's cool enough to share my tastes in movies and music, so we have a lot of fun together. We live in an apartment complex and my mom's a little iffy about pets, so we make do with being friends with the stray dogs and cats around our home :) I have quite a lot of friends, but only a couple who're close and they mean the world to me. :)
I've been on LJ for nearly 5 years now, but not all that actively. My regular journal is at
tigereyed_hash and also here. I wanted to use this journal (which I originally made for just myslef) for the writing competition, because my other LJ is very public and visited by a lot of people, and I'm still a little nervous about my writing. I did make an amazing bunch of friends who I'm constantly in touch with, so yay I<3 LJ! :D
I wish I could write more than I currently do, at a consistent rate, and have someone who could give me detached concrit! I know its practice, practice and more practice that makes you better, and that's what I hope for from the community. And I love the idea of the chatter posts!
