ah the perks of working in a chem lab
yesterday after i was done i went to the lab to get some work done. when i walked in, some of the grad students were mixing milk and stuff in a bowl. i asked them waht they were doing and they said that they were making ice cream. apparently they "stole" some liquid nitrogen and were gonna use it to make ice cream. we mixed together some milk, half & half, and sugar and just as we were about to pour in the nitrogen, Dr. Shippy walks in. he just has a blank look on his face and asked us what we were doing. we told him we were making ice cream. he just thinks for a second and says, "bring me some when ur done." that was pretty cool of him. so we poured a whole bunch of liquid nitrogen in to the milk. it took a lot more than we anticipated. the whole room became foggy. but it was excellent ice cream.
