HOORAY!
I was asked to play in the Atlantic Wind Symphony this weekend! The AWS is a professional Wind Ensemble, mostly made of the "Older" generation of Long Island music teachers and some local professionals. It's one of the best Wind Ensembles on the Island, if not THE best. The average of age of musicians in there is somewhere around like 52,...and I'm the youngest person in there by far,... but WOW,... they got my name and number and invited me to be a regular clarinet sub for them. They pay reasonably well, and it's a GREAT ensemble regardless...with one of the most warm, impressive, and full sounding low brass sections I've ever heard!
Wow, I still can't believe they called me this week. I'm so excited about this! Hooray!
