McCoy's Farm, Missouri, Sunday afternoon

Feb 28, 2010 23:39

McCoy didn't have a TV so Harry hadn't watched any Olympic coverage. He'd read about it in the paper like the rest of the luddites. For today's hockey game he'd somehow managed to find a radio broadcast. Harry was excited, and therefore sitting as far away from the radio as possible. He didn't want to explode it accidentally.

When the US tied it up, Harry had jumped up and cheered. And then briefly sulked that he hadn't been able to see it. And when the game winner was scored in the overtime, he had groaned and been glad he couldn't see the faces of the US team.

Bob, for his own mysterious reasons, had been cheering for Canada to win. Probably just to annoy Harry. And now the skull was gloating as only a talking skull can. Which is to say creepily and without lips.

[TV Harry had a hockey stick for a staff, therefore book Harry likes hockey too. Or something.]
