I haven't updated about anything in a really long time, soooooo...
Starting winter quarter I was hired on full-time by RIT as Web Administrator of the Online Learning department. Took over my bosses position and they pay for my classes from here on out, wooo! So that's cool and I love my office. I have a bunch of plaqued Alphonse Mucha, such as the work found
here, plus I set up a 2.5 gallon fish tank with plants and got a new beta, Captain Jack, who is filling the gap that was left when my beta of 4 years, Captain Jim, passed away a year or so ago. Added some plants, and voila, I really like being in my office. To the animal list, I recently inherited a kitten of someone who is leaving for Puerto Rico. He's a grey, 6 month year old kitten who I've named Vega, and he rocks. My independent study is modeling prejudice reduction, specifically using the contact theory (desegregation), and it is working out nicely. It's a project that I'm proud to be working on and happy that it counts towards CS credit. Mixing philosophy, psychology, and computer science is also a goodness. I finally learnt how to use photoshop, and thanks to tutorialoutpost.com I'm finally capable of creating decent graphics. I'm tired of the snow. I tend to meet less people during the winter, but I've been having more fulfilling contact with the new people that I have met (more than just hello, smile, goodbye). Still I miss Jason, Tommo, and Kevin a lot, but it has made me go downtown and hang out with Jocelyn and Mason more, so it is still good. They are done this quarter though, so it is time to get off my socially introverted ass and meet new people (although I dislike the term introvert, I prefer to think of it as simply enjoying the company of myself more than most). I've been very busy. It's good during the winter quarter, but I desperately need spring to come and get my physical energy on par with the mental side. My hair is the longest it's ever been, and surprisingly also the curliest it's ever been. Unfortunately, it's getting unmanageable and I need a trim. I'm no longer poor since this new job, I like that. What I like most is not having to think about money at all. I have less of a desire to buy things now than I ever did, and I don't have to budget at all.
Soooooo, overall things are really, really good. Things are stable. However, I don't like stable. I always add randomness to as much of my day as possible, but I'm still missing some excitement that I'm not quite sure how to generate yet. Getting the urge to go sky diving or to do some other activity that be guaranteed to give me the rush I'm looking for. On those lines, I rode in a plane for the first time recently and absolutely loved it.
Congratulations, you've read my ramblings or at least skimmed it enough to read the last sentence. You're a winner, ha ha ha, you're a winner, ha ha ha.
