I'd like to blame the death of my notebook for my lack of updating of late but I'm far to honest a person for that. I couldn't be arsed putting letters into words and words into sentences and sentences into some sort of coherent flow to make a semi-decent journal entry. This is despite the fact things have actually happened that really should be noted down.
About two weeks ago that hell hole/place of education/school I work at realised they've not being paying me and so the merry-go-round of form filling out and conversations with the lovely Helen from payroll ensued. I didn't get as much as I would have liked but the backpay was still lovely and is being spent at an alarming rate.
Of course, this would be all roses and puppy dogstails if it weren't for the evil that is Centrelink. Vince the underpaid welfare jockey was not at all pleased with me. Why hadn't I told them I was employed? Er because I wasn't aware I was and the intense scrutiny of someone actually having a sizable amount of money paid to them was freaky. It was like they'd never seen real pay before. The major arse sucking moment of my time with Vince is that I'm going to have to pay a couple of hundred bucks back to Centrelink because they overpaid me for pay I wasn't getting?! Really, go figure...
The Royal Adelaide Show came to town over the last couple of weeks with its reeking animals, reeking people and vomitous rides. We couldn't get in to see all the fun things because of the crowds so Jools and I dared each other to buy large stuffed purple things...me a raccoon and her a triceratops. Granted we now have no idea what to do with them but it was a good idea at the time.
I keep buying plants and must stop...
The Avalanche managed to cock up the hockey grand final and returned home licking their wounds. Although the logic of the minor premier having to play a final at the runners up home rink seems completely idiotic. Kudos to Tanner Schultz for thumping the goalie and Chris Brlecic for being pretty to look at!
Oh yes and God bless football. The Adelaide Crows thumped Port in the first ever Showdown final. It was beautiful and has made my year to watch those gits in black, white and teal slink off the ground humiliated.
Finally everyone needs to see the best commercial ever:
