spring break, basketball, and the like
im kinda having problems with what some people might call "doing my homework"....or..."being productive"...so ill continue to procrastinate by updating livejounral.
ill start out with the ncaa tourney. bucknell lost this evening to #6 wisconsin. : ( but after having the privelige of watching the patriot league tournament, bucknell winning their first patriot league championship to start off my spring break, and then doing the unthinkable and upsetting #3 kansas in the first round of the tourney in a crazy awesome game, this loss isnt too horrible. we stayed in the whole game and left nothing on the court. im so proud and happy for the team and the school. yeah pride. im also excited for next year when we'll have basically our entire team back, save for one person whos not a starter. im really excited to see what mcnaughton can do after having such an amazing end of the season. wow. hes only a sophomore.
so anyways, lets talk about spring break. haha. last saturday morning i left to go down to kelly's condo/beachhouse thing in north carolina (near myrtle beach, sc). i left the cold snowy pa weather about 9, met robin, kelly, and amanda in maryland around 1030, and then robin accompanied me down to nc, where it was warm and pleasant. mm. it was about 8 by the time we got there, so not too much happened that night. we did have an exciting trip to fdood lion though. woot. haha oh yeah on the way down we ate at a wendys in fredricksburg, va, and i wanted to call briana at mary wash, but alas, we were on a tight schedule. lol. sorry briana.
sunday was an absolutely gorgeous day. it was like sunny and 72, and we tried to go to the beach but it was just a little too windy to enjoy it, so we stopped at wings on the way back (theyve migrated from the outer banks! ahh! theyre taking over the entire east cost) and then went to the outdoor/indoor pool and hot tubs right behind our little condo. it was kind of like a goldilocks thing going on with the water...the outside pool was like 57 degrees, a little too cold....the hot tub inside was like 106 degrees, a little too hot, and the indoor pool was a nice 87 degrees..juuuust right. lol. so that was pretty much our afternoon. that evening we went to play mini golf!!! woo. we played at a course that boasted the number 1 ranking among all us mini golf courses...and it was definitely good, but i dunno if the holes were hard enough to make it number 1. haha. still, fun, and i dominated. hehe. oh and we all gt laid. becasue it was a hawaiian theme. ha ha ha.
the next morning emily showed up as expected and then there were 5 of us. the weather wasnt quite as good, cloudy and a little colder, but still good enough to go to the pool as i recall. haha. im a little fuzzy on what else we did that day. it was monday so that night we wacthed 24 and medium. haha. fun stuff. oh and we played an awesome game of cranium! nice. robin kelly and i won. and i guessed quadruple bypass without any clues. lol. oh yeah and sometime that night i made key lime pie. but we couldnt find any key lime juice...so instead of 4 egg yolks and key lime juice i improvised and used 3 egg yolks, lime juice, and key lime yogurt. haha. it turned out really well though, it seemed to be popular.
tuesday morning i got robin and kelly up and we went to pick up tracey at the myrtle beach airport. she flew in from washington, and we didnt have to wait too long. it was another gorgeous day though, so we didnt waste too much time getting to the pool. oh yeah, we did watch price is right, and kelly decided she really liked this guy demitreus, but he never got on stage. lol. poor kelly. it amused me though. after all the pooling and hot tubbing was done we went out and played more mini golf! rock on. tracey thought she could beat me, but alas, i was too strong. lol. i won both games we played. muhaha. after that we went out to carrabbas for dinner, becasue tracey's parents said theyd treat us to dinner. so that was awesome. i got manicotti, continuing my cheese obsession from earlier, where i had quesedillas, and a bunch of american cheese (some in a sandwich). they made fun of me and called me the big cheese. lol. apparently kelly is as protective of her slices of american cheese as i am. haha. who knew. that night amanda robin and kelly all went to some club in myrlte beach (after they watched american idol...yeah a lot of tv was watched. lol) emily tracey and i stayed in and had a lot more fun than we should have considering we were sitting in a condo doing pretty much nothing. lol. but still. good times. i think they had fun at the club too. everyone was tired after all that and went to bed rather early.
lets see that brings us to wednesday...the crappiest day there....it was kinda cold and rainy, just kind of a slow day. i made my awesome cinnamon toast that i used to make in like middle school though. haha. more stuff mentioned on my facebook wall. haha. eventually we did muster up enough energy to go out to a suvenir store in calabash. i didnt get anything though. it was fun to look around though...it was a pretty neat place. after going back home for a bit we went to some outdoor shopping center not too much happened. some fun stores though. like the john deere store. lol. and we got fudge at the fudgery. mm. which i hope kelly brought back to school. haha. we made it back in time for tracey and i to watch alias and everyone else to watch american idol. except robin who doesnt watch either. haha. another fun night was had after a late dinner, with more cranium. but i lost this time. sigh.
last day : (....thursday...uhh. it wasnt sunny again, but it wasnt raining. and i woke up like, really sick, and it wasnt fun, and i still dont know what happeend. but i felt good enough to go out mid afternoon...so we went to myrtle beach to a fun place with stores and food and whatnot. and they decided they wanted an old time photo. lol. so i got to be a cowboy pimp with 5 girls around me. woot. lol. its SO me. lol. cough. i was pretty hungry by the end of that, since iw as working on like, negative food for the day. lol. so we went to best buy on our way back and then ate. rock on. we all watched the oc at 8!! and it was sooo good. except it was interrupted a couple times for some emergengy warning for an amber alert. i almost died. but i didnt miss too much. i hope. haha. emily left us after that : ( we pretty much just packed and watched office space and then went to bed. woo. i had a really awesome time. thank you kelly! and everyone! haha.
friday was the drive home...left around 6...tracey came in my car, and she drove for me for like 2 hours while i took a nap. we all ate at a wendys in richmond around 11, then dropped tracey off at her house at 130. i said goodbye to everyone there as well and made my way home by myself the last 3 hours...i was home about 430 i think. nice.

so that was that vacation. i must also update on the home part of my break. that evening i went to visit barnes and noble...i found amanda and we talked for like an hour and a half while she was "working" lol. her first question was...'is there a phantoms game?!" haha. mm hockey. later that night i went to glennie's house and we watched cellular, becasue we couldnt find a better movie. the premise was kind of contrived and predictable, but it kept my interest. haha. i didnt relentlessly make fun of it like i do with some things, so thats good. haha. after that we turned on the bucknell game, and we all know what happened from there. mmmmm. pure bliss. bryan showed up to catch the very end of the game and then we all went out for a celebratory minellas trip. so good.
saturday i went to the mall a lot, did some shopping by myself, then went back later with bryan and glennie and did some aimless walking before we saw constantine at 1030. it was an alright mvie. a little confusing though. oh well.
yeah im getting tired of typing and youre getting tired of reading, but thats my break. it was a nice relaxing get away from work and such. and i really dont want to go to classes tomorrow....8 hours of classes : (
