Over spring break, the school conducted safety inspections on all the student rooms, to leave us notes about things to change and confiscate illegal appliances.
Despite the fact that I have an illegal candle (albeit with an un-burned wick) in my room, they chose to remove one thing: The extension cord leading from my phone to the nearest plug. Of course, the room is arranged such that the only phone jack in the room is not only nowhere near a plug, but inbetween the closest doors, so a cord directly from phone to plug would keep the doors from opening. Hence, a long extenstion cord over the closet, arcoss the shelf and down to the desk is needed.
But, they apparently found this unsafe for some reason, and took my cord.
Of course, the cord has been there over 3.5 previous semesters and survived about 6 instections to date... so I have no idea what the problem is now.
And no extra cord.
So, no phone.
Idiots.
