Le Background:
I was checking my mails during lunch when I saw the call to action for a Starhub Blackberry Trial. Being the avid gadgeteer (is there even such a word?) I signed up for it, did my due dilligence and patiently waited for the response. I got it on a Saturday evening whilst chilling out along the East Coast beach with my beloved and our furkids.
And it just so coincidentally happens that we have been looking for a new phone to replace the irritatingly laggy Samsung Jets whilst they still had value and the BB Bold was one of those shortlisted! Excellente! So happy!
What transpired:
So the drill was to head on down to the Screening Room at Ann Siang Hill at 7pm today to collect the BB phones and be briefed on the tees & cees of the trial. The location was a revelation for me, and I really did dig the decor.
Here are some pictures of the "Theatre" in the Screening Room. The couches are COMFY!
For all you self-loving folks out there, check out the mirror-licious WC!
Anyway, the crew came down at about 7.10pm and they carried in a box of the BB phones! *yippee* BUT the crushing news came that they did not have sufficient quantity of the Blackberry Bold 2 (aka 9700) and we'd have to settle for the Storm 2 OR the Blackberry Bold White. I did want to get the 9700, but seeing as to how the rest of the group were not too keen, I opted for the White instead. it's not too bad, considering that it is an older model, wider, thicker, and came with a trackbal rather than a trackpad. But on the whole, it's still very similar. (PLUS I like the white - that's why I picked the white iPhone too. *grin*)
Here's the Blackberry Bold White, fresh out of box, and already camwhoring, posing with my pint.
Basically, we will get the phones to use for free until 5 July, and during the period, we'd have to use it to connect to all the social media platforms, chat, and blog. We will be getting FREE data services from Starhub till 5 July and we'd have to share about our experience in using the Blackberry and Starhub's MaxMobile services - which is why my blog has come alive again! *rofl*
The (sucky) thing was that we would have to return the phones at the end of the trial but we'd get discounts if we chose to purchase any BB phone after the trial. Gimme free lah. Who's gonna want the trial phones after this anyway? *wink*
Here are some of the other peeps who were selected for the trial:
And so, for the upcoming 25 days, you can expect to see my daily updates on my escapades, adventures, and life-and-death ordeals with the BBBW! Here's a parting shot (looks damn nice, could not help it!) from the darn camwhore.
