1.
“YOU OWE ME A BIKE, ASH KETCHUM!” Misty shouted angrily after the boy. “AND I’ll FOLLOW YOU UNTIL I GET IT BACK!”

“Somebody has to keep you in line, Ash Ketchum.” Misty declared, stubbornly as she walked ahead of the confused boy. Brock smirked and pushed Ash to start walking after her.

“How come you’re going to stay?” Ash asked her later that night. Misty had been given an opportunity for studying Water Pokemon with a Water specialist earlier that day. However she had declined the offer.
Misty glanced up to Ash, who was standing besides her as she settled down for bed. “I’ve wanted to travel since I was little, Ash. And even though it would have been a great opportunity to study more about Water Pokemon… I thought traveling would be better. I can always go back anytime.”
Ash smiled at her… he was secretly very glad that she hadn’t chosen to stay.

“What? You thought you could get rid of me forever before?” Misty asked with a grin. Ash shook his head smiling.
“No, just thought you’d want to stay and be a gym leader. You’re excellent at being one.” Ash stated and Misty blushed lightly at the compliment.
“Yeah well… I missed traveling. And while watching your battles on TV is nice… nothing beats it seeing them live.” Misty said, quickly trying to wave off her reason for wanting to stay with him. “Plus Daisy has really improved in battling so I think its safe enough for me to leave.”

Tears poured out of Misty’s eyes as she hugged Ash’s body to hers. He had taken a nasty fall thanks to Team Rocket’s blast. There was a lot of blood and she was afraid that he might not make it. But as the doctor told her that he was going to be just fine, she couldn’t help but break down in relief.
Ash was a little stunned at her reaction, but it warmed his heart that she cared for him that deeply. He pulled away after her tears lessened and smirked at her.
“So, you love me, huh?” He knew he was probably get hit, injured or not, but he couldn’t help but feel excitement of the fact that Misty loved him.
Misty’s jaw dropped, “But yo-you--”
“Semi-unconscious, actually. I heard everything going around me, I just didn’t have the energy to respond.” Ash said truthfully with a smile.
“So you heard-” Misty started, but was interrupted by Ash again.
“Yeah I did,” Ash stated. “And I’m really glad I could.”
Misty’s eyes widened in confusion, “You are?”
“Yeah Mist, I know I don’t really show it a lot, but well that’s how we always kind of were. And I was worried you might no actually return my feelings…” Ash replied truthfully. “Brock kept telling me to tell you but I didn’t want to ruin our friendship if I was the only one who had those feelings.”
“And you’re saying now that you-” Misty was once again interrupted by Ash.
“Love you too, yeah.” Misty grinned and hugged him again, squeezing a little too tightly.
“Hey! Injured here, you know,” Ash stated and Misty rolled her eyes as she loosened her grip. After another few minutes, Misty pulled away with a smile. Ash grinned, “Guess I finally know why you wanted to stay with me these last few years on my adventures.”
“Yeah, I guess you do.” Misty stated grinning.
