“Get behind me!” Scott shouted as he knocked out the large dinosaur looking creature with his optic energy blasts.
“This isn’t exactly my first time being a rescued, you know!” April O’Neil stated as she squeezed the man’s waist. She might not have been a newbie in these kinds of situations but it didn’t mean she had to enjoy them… although they do tend to find stories for the News Station. Although being considered a damsel in distress was getting pretty old. It wasn’t like she couldn’t handle herself in a fight… it was just when the fights turned more unnatural that she couldn’t handle.
Cyclops turned back to face her and shook his head. The last thing he needed was a woman that was seemed to be programmed to get into trouble and dangerous situations… but he couldn’t say no to April. It was more than her looks or knowledge or her kindness of knowing what he was and accepting him for what he was. He wasn’t sure what it was about April, but he’d gladly be a part of her life for however long she’d allow him no matter how much she often worried him when she rushed off by herself for her news stories.
He was just very thankful that he had followed her here, tonight, or else she would be more than just a damsel in distress. The last thing he wanted was to lose her.
“I’m not a damsel in distress you know, I can handle myself.” April stated firmly, pulling away from him and toward the door out of the warehouse. It seemed like an endless argument that neither won, but it was a tradition in itself.
“I told you this story was too much for you to handle by yourself.” Scott stated firmly, following her out of the building. They could hear the sirens of the police coming in the distance.
“I would have been just fine, if there wasn’t that darn cat hadn’t jumped on me.”
Scott chuckled softly and shook his head in disagreement. “You lost your stealth as soon as you entered the building.”
April silently admitted defeat and huffed softly. If it hadn’t been for the squeaky door, she might have been ok. “Thanks by the way.”
Scott smirked at her.
THE END.
