Remus Lupin stared at Hermione Granger in shock. The last thing he ever expected was for her to become like him… a werewolf.
“Are you sure?” He nearly smacked himself - of course she was sure… he was as well. He could smell the changes in her body; her scent had changed due to them.
Hermione sighed softly, “I know you hate this, but well, I’m doing alright, Remus. With Oz’s help and with what I learned from you, I know what to expect this full moon. I know what I need to do.”
“I didn’t want this for you, I didn’t want this for anyone, Hermione. It’ll take me some getting used to…” Remus stated, causing Hermione’s lips to form a small smile.
“If anything, try and think of this as something positive, Remus. I’ve found the man I want to spend the rest of my life with… and I’ve found something that could use my skills in helping the Werewolf community.”
“Yes, well, I’ll still like to meet your mate, if that’s alright with you. I have a few things I want to say to him.” Remus stated, causing Hermione to chuckle. Remus had become like a father to her and Harry and he hadn’t minded one bit to take on that role. She knew it was only a matter of time that Remus would have wanted to have the “talk” with her boyfriend.
“Just don’t hurt him, alright,” Hermione stated and Remus nodded, “I’ll bring him to dinner tonight.”
“Well, that didn’t go as bad as I thought it might,” Oz stated once they were in bed later that night. Hermione curled into his embrace and smiled lazily.
“Yes, well, I told you he would only talk to you.”
“Yeah I know, but still seems kinda unexpected. I prepared for yelling or a fight.” Oz admitted, brushing his lips against her forehead. She sighed contently at the touch and moved her head so she could look at his face.
“Remus might be my father figure and Harry my brother, but they both know that once my mind is made up, it’s made up. No one can ever change it. I know there are a lot of things we haven’t told each other yet, but I still know that I want to spend my life with you.”
“And I know I want to spend my life with you,” Oz stated firmly with a grin, he leaned his head down and brushed his lips against hers. He had known the moment they had met that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her, and the wolf inside him agreed wholeheartedly.
