Summary: A few months after the incident at the Nationals.
Notes: Written for 25moments prompt Pain. I feel so bad for Payson… and just note I have no idea how long she would be in the hospital after something like that happen but I’m assuming for a couple weeks.

It’s been months since the Nationals… months since her life ended - her dreams had ended. Since before she could remember she wanted to go to the Olympics - she lived and breathed gymnastics… and now? She couldn’t do any sort of gymnastics or she would become paralyzed.
Her dreams, her future plans, her goals, her hopes, her life was over.
That pain - that emptiness - didn’t seem like it would ever go away….
There wasn’t anything really worth living for… besides her family and friends.
What else could she do?
She’s not experienced in anything… she wasn’t a gamer, musical, or a person who could sit down and not do anything. She couldn’t do anything physical incase she might hurt her back again.
But she wasn’t a person to give up.
She wasn’t about to give up living her life… yes she couldn’t do gymnastics anymore, but neither was she completely useless - her parents needed help. Her hospital bills needed to be paid, and even with her mom taking the job at The Rock, money was tight.
Taking in a deep determined breath, she knocked on the door.
“Payson? What are you doing here?” Chloe Kemtko asked after answering the door. “Was Emily expecting you?”
“No, I’m sorry Ms. Kemtko… is she home? I was hoping to ask her something?”
“Sure, honey, come in… I’m just about to leave for work, take care!” Chloe grinned at the teenager before leaving. Payson let out a sigh of relief before glancing around the apartment, spotting Emily on the couch flipping through the channels on the television. Hearing the door shut behind her, Emily glanced back and smiled softly up at her before shutting off the television.
“Hey, what’s up?”
“Not much, I guess… I was hoping I could ask you a favor for me?”
Emily’s eyebrows rose in curiosity. “A favor? Sure, I guess. What is it?”
For a few minutes, as Payson slowly joined Emily on the couch, both girls were silent.
“Could you possibly get me a job at the Pizza shop?” Payson stated finally after a few minutes of silence. Emily smiled softly.
“Sure, Payson, we’ve needed another person since Damon moved L.A.” Payson sighed with relief. “This’ll be your first job, won’t it?”
“Yeah, so I was hoping when you got the chance you could give me a few tips?”
Emily grinned at the blonde, “Of course… anytime you want. I’ll let my boss know about you tonight and I’ll call you?”
Payson grinned. “Thanks Emily.”
“Anytime, Payson… anytime.”
Payson never really hated Emily - even that first day meeting her and Lauren was jealous and angry of her - but she didn’t really like her either although she could admit Emily was a good gymnast. As she got to know the brunette, she got to liking her - Emily cared about gymnastics just as much as she did and she had to deal with a lot of pressure. And at this moment never wanted to hug the girl more nor did she feel closer to her than at this moment.
