Anywhere the wind blows

Queen songs get out of my mind.

Both Bohemian Rhadsody and Another One Bites the dust are resonating in my mind as a tribute to Gabriel. Who was never so much Gabriel but always, always the Trickster. (Loki how appropo)

So it really was a Cas-less episode. I kept expecting him to pop up in that last 5 minutes but I'm truly glad he wasn't shoehorned in this. But, as with most Cas-less episodes, it was just okay. Gabriel of course brought the level up because without him this? This would have been even more lame than it was.

I'm not all up in arms about the religion issue. I figure Kripke is playing fast and loose with everyone and wasn't really trying to elevate Judeo-Christian theology over other beliefs. I do find the lack of power completely weinie. Yes, I know limited budget. And yes, I know Lucifer is the Big Bad this year, we have to keep him on top. But seriously? Seriously? This was it? I think the idea of other gods banning together against Lucifer is a fabulous idea. And I get that you have to pull their power a little or uh oh show over. But seriously? They just walked up to Lucifer and whap? No powers other than flaming arm gal? Seriously?

Nice spooky The Shining type start to the show and the sight gag of the elephant god was superb but it was just kind of there for me. I know many of you adore Tory/Kali/whatever her real name is but I disliked her on BSG and her acting did nothing for me here either.

But RS was superb and owned all his lines and had some great ones. I do take points away for them making him dumb enough to think he could go up against Lucifer alone and I think his personality would have had him skedaddle quickly. But yea for his belated joining of Team Free Will - and again I get why they couldn't bring him in earlier (He has too much power and whoops no problems for our intrepid heroes) But yea for Porn clues (and off we go on a quest for the one ring to rule them all - no wait, the 4 rings to rule them all and bind him).

I'm not watching anymore snot scenes because EW, EW, EW, EW, EW, EW, EW.

So I'm sad for the loss of a great character and I'm shaking and scared for Cas and bored without him and yea. This show won't be the same if they kill him. It will go back to being just a show I watch when I'm not doing anything else. Not appt. tv. Over and done. Gah, I can't stand how much I'm afraid Kripke is going to kill him.

But Gabriel? Magnificent baby. I never shipped you but liked your Trickster personality. You will be missed. So a little Bohemian rhapsody (a little tweaked) as we say goodbye.

Is this the real life?
Is this just fantasy?
Trapped in a motel
No escape from reality
Open your eyes
Look up to the skies and see

I'm just an archangel
I need no sympathy
Because I'm easy come, easy go
Little high, little low
Any way the wind blows
Doesn't really matter to me, to me

(guitar solo)

Luci just killed me, man
Put my sword against my head
Stabbed me deep and now I'm dead
Fandom, I'm finally pro Team Free Will
But now I've gone and thrown it all away
Fandom, ooh
Didn't mean to make you cry
If I'm not back again this time tomorrow
Carry on, carry on as if nothing really matters

Too late, my time has come
Sends shivers down my spine
I can't trick my way out this time
Goodbye, everybody
I've got to go
Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth
Fandom, oooooooh
I don't want to die
Sometimes wish I'd never gotten involved at all

Nothing really matters
Anyone can see
Nothing really matters
Nothing really matters to me

Any way the wind blows...

I'm so behind on everything. Haven't posted about Lost or watched Fringe. Catching up this weekend. Leaving today for Lakeland, our next to last dance competition. I expected to be more sad than this but mostly I'm just ready for it all to be over.
